Do you want to renovate or restore?

I happened upon a blog the other day www.claresmith.me. I just loved her concepts and idea of restoring our bodies to what God intended and not just renovate. Below is the definitions of each of these words. She explains that renovation take something and merely makes it better, where with restoration takes broken, old thing and not only cleans it up but restores back to original state.
It is sad but I don’t remember a time in my life that I didn’t obsess about my body or my weight. From years of therapy I know it came from the trauma I endured at a young age. After being raped more times than I can imagine my perpetrator also nit picked everything about my body and, “ what a fat ass I was,” how no one would want me after him, and a lot of pretty f$&7 up stuff. After that I put on my fat suit and have yo-yoed my entire life, because if I wear my fat suit I feel protected. These thoughts have stuck with me for far to long!
I don’t want to simply renovate myself anymore or my body, I want to RESTORE it to the perfect thing it is and God intended.
I am tired of wearing this fat suit for protection and safety, it is my time to restore my body and mind and guess what I DESERVE it! Guess what so do you. What are you holding onto by wearing your “fat suit”? What steps can you take to take it off layer by layer. Thank you for letting me share my journey here with you and for all your kind and encouraging comments.
Mwah,
Lindsay
